PORTOLA VALLEY · THE PENINSULA · WORLDWIDE
Best Travel Agent in Portola Valley
You live among the oaks and trails below Windy Hill, a world away from the valley floor. Your travel tends to look the same: remote, wild and worth the effort. Justkeeps Travel plans those trips from the first flight to the last transfer, with one advisor the whole way.
SAFARI · MOUNTAINS · REMOTE LODGES
A Portola Valley travel agent for trips off the usual map.
Portola Valley families tend to choose the safari over the resort and the mountain hut over the city hotel. The best of those trips sit far from an airport and depend on small aircraft, good guides and careful timing.
That is the work we do well. We build the routing, hold the camps and lodges a year out and keep every connection in one plan. You work directly with Justin from the first call until you are home.

PORTOLA VALLEY, DOOR TO DOOR
The local details we plan around
The Peninsula has two good airports close by and some of the best long haul nonstops in the country. Here is how we use them.
Long haul
SFO, about half an hour up 280
SFO has nonstops to Asia, Europe and New Zealand. We time the car up 280 so the day starts calmly, not at the curb.
The other option
San Jose when the schedule fits
San Jose is about the same drive and often quieter. We compare both for every trip and pick the one with the better flight.
Private aviation
Private terminals at San Jose
San Jose has private terminals for most private flights from the Peninsula, with San Carlos for smaller aircraft. We coordinate the aircraft, the car and the arrival.
Remote lodges
The best camps book a year out
The best safari camps and mountain lodges have only a handful of rooms. We start a year ahead and hold the right ones while plans settle.
WHY WORK WITH JUSTIN
Why Portola Valley clients work with Justin
Justin has planned luxury travel since 2011. He works with Portola Valley families and executives by phone, text and email, and he stays involved from the first conversation through the flight home.
Justkeeps Travel is based in Boca Raton, three hours ahead of the Peninsula. That means problems on the other side of the world are often being handled before you wake up. The value is continuity: one advisor who knows the travelers and what needs to happen when plans change.

How to choose the best travel agent in Portola Valley
Questions from Portola Valley clients
How do I choose the best travel agent in Portola Valley?
→
Choose an advisor who is comfortable with remote, complex trips, not just hotel bookings. Justkeeps Travel is IATAN accredited, registered as Florida Seller of Travel ST150047, and has planned luxury travel since 2011. You work directly with Justin from the first call until you are home.
Should I fly from SFO or San Jose?
→
SFO for most long haul trips, and San Jose when it has the better schedule. The drive is similar, so we choose by the flight for every trip.
Can I fly private from the Peninsula?
→
Yes. San Jose has private terminals for most private flights, and San Carlos works for smaller aircraft. We coordinate the aircraft with the car, the hotel and the arrival.
When should we book a safari in Botswana?
→
Book a year or more ahead for June to October. The best camps in the Okavango Delta have very few tents and fill first. Read our Botswana guide.
Is New Zealand worth the long flight?
→
Yes. There are nonstops from SFO to Auckland, and the South Island in our winter is summer there. Read our Queenstown guide.
Can you plan a hiking trip in the Dolomites?
→
Yes. We plan hotel based walks and hut to hut routes with private mountain guides, luggage moved for you and the best rifugio lunches reserved. Read our Dolomites guide.
Can you plan around Peninsula school breaks?
→
Yes. We plan around Portola Valley schools and the private school calendars, and hold spring break and the holidays early, before the rooms that fit a family are gone.
Can you handle executive travel too?
→
Do I need a travel advisor who lives in Portola Valley?
→
No. What matters is fast answers, good judgment and strong relationships with the lodges and guides you use. Justin works with Peninsula clients by phone, text and email, and the whole trip runs through one person.
How much does a luxury travel advisor in Portola Valley cost?
→
Planning fees are set by scope and confirmed before any planning begins. Many hotel, resort and cruise bookings carry no planning fee, and air only tickets are $35 domestic or $50 international. Read what a luxury travel advisor costs.
