Corinthia Rome: A New Palazzo Hotel in the Historic Center

Corinthia Rome is now open on Piazza del Parlamento in the Campo Marzio district, bringing a new five star hotel to one of the city's most walkable central quarters. The building was long associated with the Bank of Italy, and the conversion preserves the gravity of a public palazzo while introducing a far more private scale inside.

A central address with a small room count

The hotel has 60 rooms, including 18 suites and three penthouses. That is a relatively modest inventory for the size and presence of the building. The location places the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and the shopping streets around Via del Corso within a comfortable radius.

The practical advantage is obvious: a guest can return to the hotel between a morning visit and dinner without reorganizing the entire day. In Rome, that flexibility often matters more than a rooftop view.

Carlo Cracco sets the dining direction

Chef Carlo Cracco oversees three venues. Viride is the formal restaurant, working with seasonal Italian produce. Piazzetta is an open kitchen courtyard space intended to feel more informal. Ocra is the bar, with cocktails and a late day rhythm.

The variety gives the hotel several ways to be used, from breakfast and a quick lunch to a full evening on property. Travelers should still confirm days of operation and reserve the more formal experiences in advance.

A spa in the old bank vault

The former bank vault now contains Corinthia Spa, an underground space influenced by Roman bathing. Water, mineral stone, and softer light create a deliberate contrast with the city above. It is the most distinctive adaptation in the building, and more interesting than a spa that could have been placed in any hotel.

Corinthia will appeal to travelers who want a new hotel without leaving Rome's historic core. The small inventory, significant public rooms, and restaurant collection may also suit guests who like a hotel that feels connected to the city rather than insulated from it.
