Rosewood Rome: A 2027 Opening Worth Watching
Rosewood Rome is now scheduled to open in 2027 across three historic buildings overlooking Via Veneto. The centerpiece is the former headquarters of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, designed by Italian architect and urban planner Marcello Piacentini. It is an unusually weighty address for a new hotel, both architecturally and culturally.

Via Veneto is part of the proposition
There are more central addresses for particular monuments in Rome, but Via Veneto offers a different kind of access. The street carries the memory of mid century cinema, grand cafés, and a particular Roman confidence. Rosewood is leaning into that atmosphere without framing the hotel as a recreation of a period.
The plan includes 155 accommodations, 50 of them suites. That is large enough to support substantial dining and wellness facilities, but not so large that the hotel must feel anonymous. The success of the project will depend on how the three buildings are connected and how naturally guests can move through them.
Dining above the city
Three dining venues are currently announced: a contemporary Italian bistro, a lobby bar and café, and a rooftop bar with a terrace. The rooftop is likely to become the most photographed space, but the lobby and street level experience may matter more day to day. Rome's best hotels work when locals have a reason to use them, not only when the view is beautiful.
The former bank vault becomes a bathhouse
One of the more original parts of the plan is below ground, where the bank's former vault will be reworked as a modern Roman bathhouse. Asaya Spa will sit on the rooftop with four treatment rooms, a wellness terrace, a reflecting pool, and a fitness center. Separating the bathhouse from the treatment spaces could give the wellness program more range than a conventional basement spa.
How it may fit into a Rome stay
Rosewood Rome may be best for travelers who want a full service city hotel with enough dining and wellness to justify time on property. Its Via Veneto setting also makes sense for a stay organized around the Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese, private galleries, and long dinners rather than a checklist of monuments.
